pursuit to be Governor, will disregard the MN. Constitution (thereby dismantling it), the nationally praised system set up for close elections and take this as far as he can, even to the Supreme Court? And this is what some people were tricked into voting for?
That is my observation from his bullying media reported responses.

1. I don't think so

These people are not idiots. With only about 3,000 contested absentee ballots there is no path to victory. Any attempt to make a big deal out of it will blow up in their face and they know it. Pawlenty has already pledged to do only what is constitutionally mandated if his term is held over. They all remember or have heard of the Minnesota Masacre-which got them in power the last time and don't want to be on the other side of that next election. When the campaign ends the BS largely stops. It's just Emmer showing his bv voters that he's a fighter not a whimpy Democrat

2. I think they will try, but I don't think the courts will let them go too far

This is not Franken vs. Coleman, Dayton's margin of victory is thirty times what Franken's was and assuming no major discrepancies are found in the initial recount I think the courts will put an end to the battle very quickly. A close election may entitle the losing candidate to a recount, but it does not entitle a sore loser to tie up the courts for months. The only reason they let Franken vs. Coleman go on so long is the election was so close that until the process was complete there was legitimate debate over who won, Dayton is going to win by enough votes that any reasonable observer will be able to see that he is the clear winner. The courts know that a lot of people would be very angry if a Governor who has not been elected to a third term were able to stay in office and ram a bunch of unpopular legislation through before the legitimately elected Governor was sworn in, I think they are going to do everything they can to ensure that our next Governor is sworn in as scheduled this January.

Also, Mark Ritchie said that after the last recount, they looked at the various issues they had run into and passed new legislation to streamline the process so this one should go much quicker. For example, he said there were a lot of "frivolous" challenges to ballot markings that had taken up a lot of time so those are no longer allowed. If there are any court challenges, I suspect the courts will have little tolerance if they feel the challenge is solely for the purpose of stalling the outcome. Like you said, I think they will do everything they can to speed things along so the new Governor can be sworn in on time.
