Attempted Coup in Ecuador: What next for Latin America? Sunday, November 7, 4:00 p.m. Walker Community Church, 3104 16th Avenue South, Minneapolis.
While the U.S. media tried to deny it, in Latin America people were clear that the events of September 30 in Ecuador, were an attempted coup against President Rafael Correa. He was held captive by national police, who waged a long gun battle with forces trying to free him, and they discussed assassinating him. This attempt brings to mind the brutal coup last year in Honduras, and the attempted coups in Venezuela and Bolivia earlier.
Come join in a discussion of these events and their meaning for the people of the U.S. and Latin America. Speakers include: Silvia Ontaneda, Consul of Ecuador to Minnesota; Marcial Castro, Hands Off Honduras Coalition; John Peterson, Hands Off Venezuela. Organized by: Hands Off Honduras Coalition.
