Here's a thought: Bachmann v. Klobuchar in 2012? |
|
The Repub party of MN clearly proved this year that it's willing to nominate a crazy wingnut for statewide office. Now putting aside for the moment the startling fact that 42% of the state was willing to vote for Emmer, I actually think that should Bachmann run for senate (and clearly her ego is big enough and she's dumb enough to try), it might just be the best hope we have of getting rid of her in Congress, just like we dumped Mark Kennedy (coincidentally with the help of Klobuchar also).
Now I know Klobuchar has very few fans here, she pisses me off often enough too. But she appeals to a large part of the state, she's on our side on most of the issues, and if she could knock two darlings of the MN Repukes out of the picture, all the better.

1. About 57% of the State actually voted. Still, it is all about getting accurate info our to people |
|
and getting them to vote. Sadly, some people view mid-term elections as unimportant. Accuracy of info getting out will have to somehow trump massive misleading constant ads.

2. Yeah, I think if Clark had run in '08 and Bachmann had made her... |
|
"anti-American" comments a little earlier in the campaign, Clark would have won.

3. Well, it sounds as though Bachmann has been snubbed for House Leadership posts |
|
so she will have a chip on her shoulder, so "Senator Bachmann" may be going through her head right now. This is not the first time her name has been mentioned for US Senator (a scary thought).

4. As scary as "Senator Bachmann" is |
|
I don't know how I'll bring myself to vote for Klobuchar again.
It may all depend on how she votes on the Catfood Commission's recommendations. She has said they should be given an up or down vote. The last time I tried, I couldn't get an answer about whether or not she supports cuts to Social Security, raising the retirement age or raising the income cap.
