U.S. Senate confirms nomination of Keith Starrett to federal bench
Associated Press

McCOMB, Miss. Keith Starrett, a circuit court judge presiding over Pike, Lincoln and Walthall counties, will take the bench in the backlogged U.S. Southern District Court for Mississippi after a confirmation by the U.S. Senate late Saturday night.

U.S. Sen. Trent Lott praised the Senate for the unanimous decision.

"Judge Keith Starrett is an outstanding jurist who will make an excellent addition to the Southern District Court for Mississippi," said Lott, R-Miss. "I was pleased that my colleagues acted unanimously to approve this nomination."

3. At Least Graves Demolished Richardson

Judge James Graves, an African-American, demolished this redneck in the Supreme Court election. Richardson ran on the phrase that we need "one of us" on the state supreme court. If that isn't a sign of provincialism, then I don't know WHAT is!! Good Riddance to Richardson.
