If you were walking down the street with your 6-year-old and somebody was standing on the sidewalk yelling "FUCK", wouldn't you want them removed?

Yes, this situation was different, but he still yelled "fuck" in a public place. If you break the law (regardless of how good your motives are) you have to expect to live with the consequences.

That said, I'd gladly pay his fine myself.

bleeped the comment - no one watching our local news knew what was said.
If it hadn't been for DU, I would have been clueless -- told my sister and her husband and they both said, "We wondered what was said, we never heard it." Local media is still sharing the kool aide, they are afraid to rock the boat, they don't want to "lose" the government's help.
