McCaskill may challenge Talent for Senate in 2006

State Auditor Claire McCaskill may be reconsidering plans to run for re-election next year and instead challenge U.S. Sen. Jim Talent.

For months, McCaskill has publicly rejected the idea of taking on Talent, a Republican. But Democratic allies say McCaskill is giving the Senate contest another look. That shift in sentiment is prompted in part by:

National Democratic encouragement, fueled by internal poll numbers that indicate Talent may be vulnerable next year when he's up for re-election.

She doesn't run well for big elections statewide.
I don't think she's likable.
I'd rather see someone else run for that seat.
