Howard Dean in KC on Friday, June 3
I just got a message about this from the state Democratic party. Howard Dean will appear (with state party chairman Roger Wilson) at the Uptown Theater (3700 Broadway) for a membership drive on Friday, June 3, at 2:00. The cost is $25 (or $100 if you want to sponsor three new party members).

Hmm, kinda hard for most working people to make it at that time, but lucky for me I have Friday off.

The invite says: "Please call the Missouri Democratic Party at 573.636.5241 or contact cdillon@missouridems.org for more information regarding this event."

2. Wherever you can find it
The Uptown doesn't have a lot. You can park on Broadway (if you can find a spot), in the parking lot for the strip mall across the street, or on one of the adjacent streets. It's usually not that hard when I go there for concerts. I don't know about that time of day.

4. I can't imagine they wouldn't
They announced this too late to do advance sales and the Uptown is a big place. Contact them for info if you want to be sure. I'm just gonna show up.

6. Pretty good
It was fairly short but good. Roger Wilson spoke and introduced Gov. Dean. Dean gave a typically plainspoken and passionate speech about his plans for the Democratic Party to get better organized and fight Republicans in all races in all states, not just in the swing states. Dean is an inspiring speaker and I think he's got a solid plan for the DNC.

7. I read the write up in The Star
It sounds like the same speech he gave in Lawrence in March. And no problem there - he was great.
