Pitch article about Westport Flea Market, where we have had our meetups in KC. It has been on the market for nearly 10 years and the owner has talked to Hooter's but no sale as of yet.

yesterday, if they do sell to hooters it won't go into effect until November.

the world does not need any more Hooter's. And it's not quite the right fit for that part of Westport.

3. An update

More on the Westport Flea Market/Hooters deal, which is sounding all but inevitable:

Kleb emphasizes that there’s been no signing on the dotted line. Still it appears the longstanding Flea Market building will be replaced with a spanking new, in all likelihood, orange-accented edifice.

A haphazard consortium of Cowtowners bemoans 1) the restaurant’s passing, 2) the demise of the flea market, 3) the dozing of a quaint, old building, 4) the addition of a chain restaurant to the area, 5) that of all the chains, it has to be Hooters -- the joint whose very name represents a thinly disguised reference to breasts and/or 6) all of the above.

Count me in. I will never eat at Hooters.

We should meet at the Flea Market while we still can.

4. Hearne Christopher??

Scratch, I knew him in high school. His column is a gossip column. I believe about half of what he writes, same as what he wrote in the high school paper.

I still say we keep meeting at the Flea Market and I am not counting the days till Hooters opens.
