Petition to bring progressive radio to KC

An online petition has just been started to bring progressive talk radio (such as Air America or Democracy Radio) to Kansas City. In many cities, citizens have been successful in getting low-rated stations to switch by signing petitions and showing support. So if you're interested in getting a better balance on the local airwaves, please consider signing.

I'm in Canada now, but I'm still registered to vote in Lawrence (Lawrence would be huge on this) so I signed.

2. I can't sign it since I do not reside in one of the

counties listed. My county borders Jackson so I would be very interested in prog radio and would easily pick up the signal.

I don't know why they did it that way. Maybe it's to show support in a core listenership area, or maybe they just weren't thinking broadly enough.

Some people outside the stated area are signing anyway and then commenting that even though they live in an adjoining county, they would listen to progressive talk radio if it came to KC.

6. I went ahead and signed anyway.

I put down where I live at and told them that they would have support from further out than just the Metro.

For those of you with cable - check out Sundance channel to catch Al Franken's show (bits of his Air America radio broadcast that is televised).

9. I've been watching that

Franken is on Air America at a time of day that I wouldn't be able to listen to him anyway, so I really appreciate the Sundance shows.
