Anyone familiar with KC, I need some direction |
|
My computer fix has moved, I get my stuff at the surplus exchange, and I need to replace this computer next month. On their site they tell me they've moved to 518 santa fe. It's down in the bottoms, I'll come in over the broadway bridge, what I need to know is if I jump onto 70 west there, is there an exit onto santa fe? If there is that's great it'll take me right to my supplier and I'll be very happy.

1. It's been a while since I was back home. |
|
And I'm not sure what the exits are. Is this on the Kansas side of the bottoms? Might want to plug the address into Mapquest and print out the directions from the address you will be coming from. Sure miss being home.

Found a better route than the original post:
Come over the Broadway bridge, turn right onto 5th street.
Follow 5th St. to the T-intersection at Beardsley
Turn left onto Beardsley
That takes you unders some viaducts and across railroad tracks.
Turn right onto St. Louis Ave. (like a 45-degree angle turn)
That takes you to Santa Fe
Original Post:
come over the Broadway bridge from the north...
turn right (west) onto Woodwether Rd. (before you get to 3rd street -- maybe a difficult manoever)
turn left onto Mulberry St. (probably the second intersection)
turn left on 8th st. (looks like the first intersection)
Turn right onto Santa Fe (looks like the first intersection)
(I-70 seems to have no access to the bottoms. Highways, railways, and limestone bluffs restrict access to the bottoms)

I'll have to dig out my KC map wherever the hell I put it and decipher this.

6. He's got it pretty much down. |

As you get over the Bdwy bridge, your first possible right turn is 5th st. But it dead ends at Beardsley Road (u will be looking at a small park with a sign saying River Bluff Park).
Turn left onto Beardsley, and then you will see a brand new bridge that replaces the St. Louis Ave bridge, but is a block farther south. Hang a right on that bridge and follow the rest of the instructions.
The Computer Exchange's new digs is a 1/2 block north of the Community Release center. If I remember correctly.

I'll follow these directions, since we're going on a Saturday there shouldn't be any problem.

Pull me over and introduce yourself.
Not far from where you will be is the river market, has a great coffeeshop that roasts their own-- Rivermarket Coffeehouse.

at the first DU meetup back in September 02 up by platte city, I had a different user name then that's probably throwing you off. Now, I'm hoping they're open on the third, it'll be labor day weekend, I'll call them next week some time.
