Anyone here familiar with McDonald County ? |
|
My husband and I live in the heard of red country and want to know if there are any other DU'ers out there in our part of Missouri, or any who are familiar with it. It can be difficult to find others to talk to here.

(Vernon) but have been in your area once. Very pretty!
Yes, it's pretty red down that way.
Last year I was in Neosho for a high school football game. It was their homecoming. Students had written on their car windows, but instead of writing "Go Neosho" and things like that, they had written "Vote for Bush", "Go Bush" and other pro bush crap. It was....odd.

I suppose...I'm from Alaska, so its hard to compare SW Missouri to my homestate...btw i'm turtlelowe's husband. This is a very red area, and ...very well behind in a lot of areas. I always tell friends that its odd, that the closer I travelled to the midwest, it seemed with every step, i was taking a step backwards in time. Not that i'm saying the people are dumb, or irrational here, cause people are like that everywhere...its just very...well, to me it seems like i'm going back in time.

Hi,
Yes, I'm very familiar with McDonald County. I see by your profile that you live in Goodman. I lived in southeast Kansas all my life until a few years ago - now we live in Kansas City,MO.
I used to drive through Goodman down highway 71 on my way to Fayetteville to attend the Univ. of Arkansas. You are in the heart of red country. I feel your pain. I have a friend who is retiring this coming summer and is moving to Forsyth, MO area. She hopes she can find a few fellow Democrats!

Always ready to meet some progressives. But then, I may decide to return to Gulfport.

of missouri. I'm in goodman, in Mcdonald county, and we are about 30 miles from joplin...the AR border is about 15-20 miles from Goodman. The McDonald County borders Ar, Ok...i'm not sure if it borders southeastern KS, but it might...:)
