I'm thinking that I won't renew my drivers license when it comes due

Not until we've run babydoc out of office and changed that awful rule about providing an embossed birth certificate.
I've got my birth certificate it's always been good enough in the past for any thing I've needed it for.
Now I'll have to give 15.00 to the state for one that has an official seal on it and that I'll never need again.
I don't drive that much now anyway, and haven't been asked to show my license for years, but as a protest not renewing is sounding good.

1. As long as you don't drive anywhere.

If you drive somewhere and get stopped, things could get ugly. Personally, I'd rather not chance it.

2. I have to order mine from another state.

The first one they sent me, according to our new laws, is not valid since it is not embossed. Now I have to write back to my old state and explain to them why it must be embossed, per our new laws.
