McCaskill opposes Alito nomination! |
|
McCaskill and Talent have differed on the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court. McCaskill opposes the nomination; Talent favors it. http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/news/local/13704016.htm

1. Damn, her vote would give us 45 if she was there... |
|
Plus Chafee and a couple of Dem pick-ups (plus maybe Snowe, etc) and we could stop the next Scalito.

Kos posted today that she's said she would have voted for cloture today, although she would have voted against his nomination.
I don't know how much more of *that* we need (sorry, I'm still a little angry tonight) but still she's a huge improvement over Talent.

And who knows what she actually would have done had she been in the senate yesterday - politicians have to take certain positions to get elected, and I understand that. I'd like to think that she might well have joined in on the filibuster (okay, perhaps I'm just looking for hope somewhere).
