http://www.stltoday.com/blogs/news-politicalfix/2006/04/senate-gives-final-ok-to-voter-id-bill/all-commentsThe Missouri Senate wasted little time Monday afternoon, giving final approval to the bill mandating a government-issued photo ID for all voters.
The bill allows provisional ballots for those voters without such an ID for the the November election. (See recent post below for details.)
The final vote was 23-9, with one Democrat joining all the Republicans in supporting the bill. The other Democrats voted against it — except for Senate Minority Leader Maida Coleman, D-St. Louis, who was absent.
The Senate version estimates that it would cost the state slightly more than $4 million this year to pay for the vans and extra Department of Revenue staff needed to supply the photo IDs for the 170,000 or so Missouri voters who don’t have drivers licenses.

Great. 170,000 voters disenfranchised.
