Anyone else getting hit hard by state taxes

We have to pay in a sizable chunk this year, after getting refunds every year in the past. I plugged the numbers in sideways, upside down, and backwards it still comes out as we're screwn this year.

1. I'm getting a refund from MO.

For the first time in over ten years. But, it's also the first time in over ten years I haven't worked in Kansas and paid taxes to two states.

2. I get hit hard every pay period cause

I'm single without dependants and I don't own any property.

3. State taxes.

I don't know. I haven't done taxes as yet, but don't let the Repug. politicians talk you into No State Taxes. Property taxes will go sky high and so will sales tax. My son lives in Texas and they pay no state taxes but they pay more in property taxes than I pay in state and property taxes combined. That's a trap Rep.politicians use to trick people and soooo many fall for it.
