I just love your Sen. McCaskill! She was on C-span this morning and gave such nice, sharp, articulate answers to questions about Iraq and the escalation. She shot down each wingnut caller with grace and a thorough knowledge of every little detail. When she mentioned that she is a former prosecutor, it all became clear why she is so good at what she was doing. We have Russ Feingold, but you guys are also lucky to have Claire.

Dear Senator,
I understand that you have stated that you will NOT cut off funding for the illegal, immoral war in Iraq. Senator, I worked on your campaign. I made calls, knocked on doors, gathered volunteers, and placed your literature in my college campus. I believe that because of the extra support you received here in Southwest Missouri, you were able to win over Jim Talent. Now, I feel as though you are going back on your campaign promises. There is more than enough money in the pipeline to bring our troops safely home. This is what needs to happen. You are a member of the OPPOSITION party. Do not fund Bush's treasonous war. Do not let us down, Senator. We voted for you, worked for you, SPENT TIME AWAY FROM OUR FAMILIES FOR YOU, and now we are being repaid by our own Senator towing the Republican 'More War' line. We voted you in because it is time for a change. Bring our troops home, Senator. Stop funding this war. It is a moral imperative that we withdraw from Iraq before we cause even more damage, before one more American or Iraqi dies, before one more day or one more dollar is spent on a strategy that has not and will not work. End it. YOU control the purse strings.

5. We are witholding judgment at this time

A lot of us here worked on her campaign. And she has not done what she promised re: the war. She is a better alternative than Jim Talent. But she has really let her supporters down so far, especially those of us who want this damn war to end.
