Westminster College is proud to unveil "Beyond Iraq": The Second Iron Curtain Tuesday: April 3rd 10:00am On Tuesday morning, April 3rd, Congressman Ike Skelton (D-MO), Chairman of the United States House Armed Services Committee, will address the nation from Westminster College in Fulton, MO. He will be predicting the outcome of the Iraq War and U.S. involvement in the Middle East. Congressman Skelton will stand in the very place where, almost 61 years to the day, Sir Winston Churchill, accompanied by President Harry S Truman, delivered his famous "Iron Curtain" speech in which he predicted the dark beginnings of the Cold War. Congressman Skelton will deliver remarks for 30 minutes and leave an additional 30 minutes for any questions from the audience. Although live questions will be taken, priority will be given to pre-submitted questions pertaining to the War in Iraq. This will be a hallmark address in the distinguished career of Congressman Skelton, the history of Westminster College, and the history of our nation. If your group, or any group you know of, is planning to demonstrate in opposition to the war before/during/or after the event please email me directly so that we can make arrangements in coordination with security concerns.
