Outgoing Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes announced this morning that she’s taking a teaching position at Park University, and that she’s still considering a run against U.S. Rep Sam Graves.
Barnes said she’ll probably make a decision about whether to run for Congress by the end of May.
Suggesting some seriousness in her political ambitions, the mayor said she’s already cleared at least the possibility of running for office with the folks at Park, and they’re cool with it.
Barnes would not answer questions about Republican Graves, or about the criteria she’s mulling in deciding whether to run.
