Who the hell is Clay Chastain?

Why is some guy who doesn't even live in Kansas City so obsessed with making sure that any new light-rail system in KC comes with gondolas and some bizarro underground power system?

Having moved to KC only a few months ago, I've showed up late at this party. What's the deal with this guy?

1. He used to live here

I think he even ran for mayor or maybe city council. I don't know much else about him, just that he has been a fixture here and has always been an advocate of light rail.

2. He's KC's version of Don Quixote. He kept forcing lightrail onto the ballot...until finally the

folks voted for it. His plan is bloated and impractical, but that's what people voted for. Gondolas' have heat...they're sexy! BWAHAHA! We can't even get folks who live on bus routes to use them. I don't know why ANYONE thinks this will work.:shrug:
