Hi, kids. I'm a little embarassed to say that I haven't been out of the Southwestern United States since I was a little kid in the 60's. So I'm kinda spoiled by warm dry weather.
So I need to humbly ask: What's the weather like in Springfield in the middle of September?
How do I dress and what do I bring so that I don't walk out of the airport going "Aw, shit!"???

if so, bring a nice jacket and a coat for after the sun goes down. A raincoat with a removable flannel lining, an umbrella, headscarves, and/or a hat would be advisable. Sweaters are good all purpose garb. BUT, we have had some of our WORST heatwaves in September, I'm a native Missourian so, yes, I know whereof I speak! Don't think it's going to happen this year as this summer has been abnormally cool.

3. Well, I'm heading out Sunday morning... |
|
...and returning here to LAX late Tuesday night.
757 to Texas, and something quite a bit smaller from Texas to Springfield.
Looks like umbrella and light rain-type jacket. The intertubes forecast 65 to 70+ degrees with thunderstorms Friday and Saturday, showers Sunday, sunny Monday and Tuesday, and more thunderstorms starting Wednesday, so I guess I'll be lucky (if that holds up, of course.)
The thing that bothers me is, is there really such a thing as 81% humidity? (I'm learning to appreciate the southwest desert more and more, and I haven't even left yet...lol.)
