Schweitzer urges Dems to actionBy JIM GRANSBERY

With 63 days until the general election, Democratic candidate for governor Brian Schweitzer reminded Yellowstone County Democrats Tuesday why they are key to his success.
"It is not just because of the numbers," he said. "There are a lot of swing, independent voters who study the candidates here."
Schweitzer encouraged legislative candidates to engage the electorate on the doorstep by making sure "they are understanding your values and whose side you're on."
Because of limited resources, the Democrats "have to know who the undecided people are, the ones not affiliated, which houses we can move," he said.
Yellowstone County is the most populous of the state's 56 counties. Of its nearly 130,000 residents, 88,308 are currently eligible to vote on Nov. 2. That figure will climb as voter registration continues through September.
