My opponent is up to his dirty tricks again. First there was the private investigator hired to snoop for dirt on me. Now I have received word, confirmed by multiple sources, that a misleading “push poll” is again being conducted across the state.



A push poll is a telephone survey, which, under the guise of being a legitimate poll, attempts to spread negative lies and rumors about a candidate or a campaign. Although this practice is illegal under Montana law, this is at least the second time my opponents have run a push poll against me in this campaign. In order to sidestep Montana election law, their current smear operation has been contracted to a firm in Lethbridge, Alberta.



If you are the victim of a telephone push poll, please try to jot down as many of the questions as possible, and try to find out the name of the company conducting the poll. The negative questions usually come at the end of an otherwise normal sounding survey, so it’s best to wait until the end of the call before you start asking questions of your own.
