Jack knew Conrad was EASY
http://www.billingsgazette.net/articles/2006/03/08/news/state/20-burns-abramoff.txt WASHINGTON -- Jack Abramoff's lobbying firm got "every appropriation we wanted" from Sen. Conrad Burns' Senate committee, the disgraced ex-lobbyist says in the April edition of Vanity Fair.
Abramoff told the magazine that his staff members were "as close as they could be" with the Montana Republican's staff.

Some of Burns' staffers had close connections to Abramoff. His former chief of staff, Will Brooke, left Burns' office to work for the lobbyist's firm after taking a trip to the 2001 Super Bowl in Abramoff's jet.

An Associated Press review found that in 2001, Burns and his staff met Abramoff's lobbying team and collected thousands of dollars in donations around the time that Burns took legislative action favorable to Abramoff's clients in the Northern Mariana Islands. Burns also helped arrange congressional funding for an Indian school building program sought by Abramoff's tribal clients.
Well, Conrad, go ahead, buy time on the air and keep saying it's all a bunch of "you know what". The local stations need the money, but you are not winning friends nor influencing people.
We have a lot of serious problems around here, many due to GOP policies bought and paid for by corporate interests via the lobbyists. The folks here at home are talking trash about ya, man. They be dissing ya big! And guess what, they are registered Republicans!
Stay back east. We don't want you. You may be cheap and easy, but even your seniority won't buy you back the voters I've been hearing. They are willing to go to the back of the seniority bus for the chance at getting a Senator who remembers who he is SUPPOSED to represent!
