Election Day - What did you see? |
|
I drove through Lincoln home from the job about 5pm. I didn't see much street corner campaigning. I did catch the new huge ford truck with the Ricketts sign covering the back of the truck. It was huge and ugly - the truck and the sign.
A lone Rickett's person stood still at 27/hi way 2 with a sign - no honking, nothing. My polling place was packed. They had portable voting set up at tables and chairs. So about 12 people voting and another 15 waiting. I noticed my son was the 23 voter this morning - Ben is just 18.
Then I saw a young person in line and asked him hold old he was. He told me this was his first time voting. He was going to vote for Ben Nelson, because his father was Iraq and was not going to be able to come home for Grandma's funeral. Then he went on to tell me his mother called Ben Nelson and Ben Nelson said he was going to call the pentagon. His family had a phone call the next morning that dad was on his way home. I told the young gent it was a beautiful storey - and thanks for sharing. Oh the conviction in his eyes. An exciting night. How was yours?
Lets go BLUE!!

swanson, fortenberry and ricketts people, a couple pro-421 not much, not nearly as much as usual.
had to stand in line for 15 minutes, polling place was very busy at 4:40
Not expecting much tonight, but I'd really be happy if Avery won in Legislature.
Kleeb out west would be a shocker
