1. I could have told you that!

I'm in Las Vegas, and the filtered pitchers I have are still only barely adequate for drink mixes (Crystal Light or store brand generic equivalent) or cooking. Trying to drink the water from those pitchers straight -- even ice cold -- is like gulping down dirty swimming pool water. Without the filters I wouldn't try it unless I was critically dehydrated and had no other choice.
