My bet? He got drunk, crashed his car, and knew his political
career would be over if stopped for aggravated DUI. (He's not
a member of the Bush family, you see.)

So he gambled that if he only appeared crazy (perhaps as a
result of bumping his head), there was a chance he might be
able to salvage his career.

Not unless he were a Republican.

He's a Democrat; he's toast.
