My letter to Sununu re: estate tax repeal |
|
I recieved your written reply regarding my concerns about the permanent repeal of the estate tax. In your letter you say, "Too often, small business owners and family farmers shoulder a disproportionate share of the death tax burden. I also believe it is simply wrong to assess a tax and punish heirs merely because their loved one was successful."
I have two questions for you, Senator:
1. Can you provide for me the names of family farmers in New Hampshire whose families have lost their farms as a result of the estate tax?
2. How do you feel about the birth tax, the $36,000 share of the federal deficit 'inhereted' by every child born in this country?
I await your written response.
Sincerely,
NHDem

The last year I can find numbers for was 2003 - and in 2003, 99.7% of all NH residents did not pay the estate tax.
Gregg, Sununu, Bradley, and Bass are 4 of the only people who will be eligibile to pay it. Conflict of interest much?
