(Associated Press)Police cast doubt on candidate's crashJune 20, 2006
DOVER, N.H. --Police cast some doubt on a congressional candidate's story
that he wandered from an April car crash in a daze, swam across a river and
huddled in the woods overnight until he was found, according to court
documents released Tuesday.
Gary Dodds, 41, a Rye businessman, has not been charged with a crime.
Among the documents is a May 2 state police affidavit that outlines
inconsistencies in Dodds' statements and cites probable cause for three charges:
theft of services, falsifying physical evidence and false public alarms.
Police said their investigation continues.
