...one of these yellow ribbon crusaders just what they do to "support the troops".
I harbor, nor mean ill will toward our gallant military, but I imagine that most of the people that sport these ribbons don't even know how many have died in Iraq. (I'll ask)
I suspect many of them really mean "support George Buxh".
I know this is a generalization, and therefore not a hard fast rule, but I think many fall into that catagory, and they aren't hard to spot.
on edit: After reading the replies below I may be wrong, and wouldn't want to alienate anyone who really does help out the unfortunates dutifully fighting this rich man's war. I'll be careful on this one.

4. I got mine to help pay for body armor for the local Guard unit |
|
It was a local fundraiser, and you could buy them at banks. I protested the war before it started, and stated on signs and in the paper that I support the troops, unlike the neo-cons. I bought the ribbon to show I walk my talk.
Forgot to tell you-I added VOTE KERRY to the "Support Our Troops" printed on the ribbon.

|
to raise money for the guys in iraq. they place them at the local gas stations and charge about five bucks each for the larger ones..all the money goes to the soldiers-well purchases of different supplies-the stations do this for free..they have raised close to ten thousand dollars in money and goods for the guys in iraq..if you ever buy one of them make sure the money is going to the iraq soldiers not to the place where you buy one..hell i bought two cause i know they are doing something good with the money....

7. They are all over both on cars and for sale. Seems to be a high |

correlation between these and Chimpy support. So, I'm planning on putting one on my car right next to the "John Kerry" sticker. No, the Repukes are not the only ones supporting our troops being forced to secure the wealth of Halliburton.

a yellow ribbon with a bullet hole through it, dripping blood, reading, "Bring 'em home NOW." Supporting the troops isn't sending them to die in Iraq for the greater glory of Halliburton.

Today a pick up truck with union stickers (Sheet Metal Workers for Kerry), yellow ribbons and "Dump Bush" drove by me in Somerville.
