Just helped 10 new voters register! |
|
I just returned from taking a group of high school seniors to the polls--all of them were first-time voters, and 2 (!) had birthdays today. I also bumped into 2 former students who were registering to vote for the first time as well. Overall, it went very well. Our election workers were very professional and helpful, and the kids got registered without a hitch.
On a related note, the line to register to vote was quite long! I'm glad to see so many taking an interest in this election.
There were also 8 poll watchers on duty, with probably about a dozen or so present (they seem to be working on rotating shifts.) That is remarkable considering that we only have about 6000 residents in this town.
The sentiment seemed to be Kerry/Edwards, and how this town goes is usually how the state goes, so I have hope we will be putting NH's 4 electoral votes in the K/E column!
:bounce:
I am just so damned excited ... I've been waiting four years to get that jackass out of office!
