Bush in Portsmouth on Wednesday Feb. 16 |
|
Bush is going to land at Pease AFB to talk up his Social Security plan. Naturally our own Senator Judd Gregg will be there to cheer him on. He's expected to appear at about 11 am.
The AFL-CIO and NHCA are staging a press conference at 9:30 am, to be held near Pease - I'll post the exact location tomorrow.
Please come and show Mr. Bush that we don't want no steenkin privatization of Social Security - the more the merrier, and the more impressive.

We're gathering at the corner of NH Ave and Rochester, by the Brittania Aviation building, at the Pease Trade Port. There's a construction site nearby where we can park. (we have permission)
We're gathering at 8:30 and the press conference begins at 9 - we're trying to catch the media on their way in to see Bush. WMUR and the Union Leader are going to be appearing.
I'll be the tall, 45ish redhead.

Somehow I always pictured you as a 4'6" albino with dreadlocks...
Apologies for missing the event. Among today's legislative festivities was a hearing on my pride and joy, the Crime Victim Employment Leave Act, which I freely admit I stole from Janet Napolitano (she knows and she's cool with it). Based upon an early head count, it should come out of committee alive, if not entirely intact.

No, brother Bob and I aren't twins. }(
About 60 people turned out. It was sunny and warm, and lots of media was there, but I am just getting home now, and haven't seen any of it.
I'll be testifying at the SB118 hearing Friday, and the HB90 hearing on Tuesday.

5. Alas, I was not able to get the time to make it |

Did the media cover it? I didn't hear anything on NHPR.
They did however mention that Bradley wasn't there with bush and furthermore Bradley is "undecided" on bush's social insecurity plan.
Looks like the bushbots are gunning for anyone who doesn't toe the line.

Jeb is being really cute with the whole Social Security issue. He says he "opposes privatization", but won't come out and expressly say that he opposes the Bush plan. It's classic Jebspeak; posture yourself to look like the thoughtful waspy moderate back home, but still stay in the good graces of the Texas Mafia that runs his party in DC.

I found it interesting that Jeb wasn't up there shoulder to shoulder with shrubbie. The bushco gang is big on loyalty. I wouldn't think that Jeb's waffling would go over too well with the White house.

was there, I don't know if they actually reported on the event or not. I missed almost all of the media reports - I've been steadily on the road the last few days.
I found it interesting that they were expecting 2000 Bush supporters. The media is claiming 1000 showed - and I heard from someone who got in that it was more like 500. That's piss poor attendence for Busholini - he must have been miffed.
In spite of all that, Gregg and Sununu will smile and kiss his ass, as he metes out the punishment to NH for having the audacity to turn blue.

9. Boston Herald reporting that bush's event was... |

sparsely attended. Good news, I'm surprised that it's coming from the Herald though. http://news.bostonherald.com/politics/view.bg?articleid=68999
