Hey New Jersey (x-posted) |
|
(taken right from my Facebook page)
What the fuck New Jersey? I thought you were better than this! WTF Asbury? WTF Long Branch--- I spend the last four days walking the streets and you can't even get out and vote? Hello!? Look where it got us--- we lost Trenton and we lost Monmouth County! What the hell do I have to do to get my fellow Democrats out to vote? People died for this right, and you just take it for granted. WTF?

1. I know, right? I can't believe it either! |

What the freak is wrong with the darn voters of NJ???? It was even a nice clear day (so much for the fair weather democrats theory). What is it? Did dem voters think they did their jobs last year and now they're off the hook until 2012? Why on earth... I just don't get it. I mean I understand Corzine's unpopular, but to vote for Christie!!!
I realize it's pointless for me to rant now that nothing can be done, but I'm just so unbelievably pissed that I need a place to vent. I am so annoyed, pissed, annoyed, pissed, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH!!!!!! Why can't people just get their shit together and get off their asses to vote!!! Stupid lazy a-holes. Stupid ignorant people. Swayed by these stupid a-hole republicans. The republican party used to be a party, but now it's just a bunch of idiotic extremist crazies - and how the f is it possible that they are indeed electable? I don't get it.
So, for at least another four years there will be no marriage equality, he may even try to undo the civil unions that we worked so hard for. He'll probably try to overturn Roe V. Wade. But how does this matter less than an hour after the election results. To those who say love it or leave it, I'm ready to leave it. I can't stand what this state has become, and I can't stand the lows that it will now sink to.
This is so horrible and disappointing. It's not like Corzine was a real winner, but at least our civil liberties would have stayed protected. We didn't really have a fair choice. This really sucks, we really have to get better people in the primaries from now on. They should have run someone against Corzine in the primary. But there's nothing we can do about that now! I can't believe that BLUE New Jersey voted for not just a Repubican, but such an EXTREME conservative just because we had an unpopular governor.
I hate Chris Christie! It's not fair that we have another Bush person in there. I thought we were done with the darn Bush administration last year! I just need to rant somewhere about this! I have so much anger about it. I really want to move out of this horrible state, and I probably will.
When Bush won in 2000 I said I would leave the country, but then I didn't. We finally got rid of that oppressive government eight years later, and now the citizens of New Jersey are subject to that administration once more? Christie is an A-hole and I hate him hate him hate him!!!!!!!
This just makes me want to just move for real this time. I don't want to be stuck in a place where my rights are slowly being taken away from me. I want to go somewhere that I can marry my partner of choice, and my body is legally under my own jurisdiction, and there is a national health plan!
I hate Christie!!! I hate Republicans!!! I hate Republican control of my state!!! This royally sucks!!!!! WTF.

I can't stomach Christie, and the next four years will be living hell here as the state is forced backward into BushCoWorld. :puke:
I pray for the health and safety of Frank Lautenberg, 'cause we're sure to get some RW toady if he needs to be replaced.
But I think this time, it all came down to voters' perception that Corzine did nothing to reduce property taxes. If taxes had gone down even a small percentage, we would have likely seen a much different result.

4. I agree with everything you say |

Chrissy Christie makes me sick. (Visions of Chrissy Whitman haunt me.) I got myself out and voted for Corzine. I mean WTF? What's wrong with people? They want "change"??? Well, they're going to get worthless changes now.
Civil liberties, ha!
I was horrified when I got a Christie flyer in the mail, espousing "one man, one woman" as the only definition of marriage - for him and wife "Mary Pat." :puke:
I thought: Is this happening in NEW JERSEY?
I was sickened to see the election results last night. Sickened and disgusted.

we gotta stick around and fight. And someone please send some fries to Chris Christie please.
My friend (who was my partner in crime for street canvassing)'s more optimistic than I am. I'm prepared to put gloves on and put up a fight.
When you're dealt defeat, you come back stronger. Cory Booker 2013

2. It's very disappointing |

I voted for Corzine and tried to get everyone else I know to vote for him, too. Nobody cared and that's very depressing. I tried to tell them that we run the risk of getting someone in office who might pull the "I won't accept any stimulus money" routine, but they all stayed away from the polls because they said it didn't matter! I can't stand Christie and agree with a post I saw on another thread saying the voters will hate him as soon as he takes over, which is probably true, but doesn't make the next 4 years any easier to take.

we can only hope for the best but I'm still pessimistic. At least we have both houses of the legislature (unfortunately not in Monmouth County where we were creamed last night)

lard and French fries to Christie? We're one coronary away from the Senate President becoming governor. The way the Lieutenant Governor law is structured, he/she leaves office with the governor. The lieutenant governor only stands in when the governor is sick or out of state. When Christie is confronted by the legislature he'll call Karl Rove for help. After redistricting New Jersey will lose two Democratic Congressmen, despite the overwhelming number of registered Democrats. And a big thank you to Boss Norcross for suppressing Democratic turnout all because Corzine put Menendez in the Senate as opposed to Norcross' demand for a Senator from south Jersey.

I think - God forbid - if Lautenberg gets sick . . . Cory should be our new Senator. ;-) Just from his Tweets alone? I like the guy.
