Green chili roasting is in the air! |
|
I just got back from the grocery store and the air is heavenly with the green chili roasting! It seems a little early, but is there a better smell in the whole wide world?
Damn, I love this place.

and the Pinon nuts...
I lived for a short while in NM - the only state that equals NM is Montana, IMO.

Seattle would be my second choice. I know some of the nicest people on earth who live in the surrounds areas of Seattle. Of course, I only go in the summer, so I might have a different opinion of the area if I went during the cloudy times of the year. It is always amusing to me how much people in Seattle freak about their hot summer days since New Mexico's hottest summer days are in the 100s.
Where did you live in New Mexico? :hippie:

I'm thinking about moving to New Mexico actually. I just loved it there, the food, the mountains, the desert...the kind of funky spiritual vibe of the place.
I lived in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

Mr. Nownow and I hope to migrate out that way. I have family and friends in Cruces, my cousin works for the university. Did two years with my first husband at Alamogordo, when he was stationed at Holloman, and a big chunk of me never came back east. How I miss that place ...

6. Green chilis...yummmmm! |

I moved here from California (yuk) two years ago and I love it here! It's so open and the air is so clear, and really, there is so little traffic. I love leaving for work only 15 minutes before I have to be there! In California (SF Bay Area), you have to leave at least and hour before, and that's only to go 20 miles!!!!. I will never go back. And the green chilis here - I love em' They're the best!

It's sort of our form of marijuana. It grows on small green plants, and the bud it produces is the best part. Once picked, we buy it on street corners, take it home in a large plastic bag, clean out the stems and seeds and place it in our freezers in small plastic bags! And yes, it does relax you - I read somewhere that green chilis contain Triptophane, a natural chemical, which is also in turkey, and it helps you sleep! Hee hee!
