From what direction do the rains come in the rainy season??
I have Fukushima on my mind. Moved to NM recently from the east coast, where in April I was avoiding the spring raindrops because they'd been found to be radioactive.

we have two rainy seasons and it different in the north than the south...

2. Monsoon season is now through the end of September
The moisture comes from the Gulf of California(low level) and the Gulf of Mexico(high level).
