Best way to volunteer in Santa Fe...?

My wife and I will be in Santa Fe, Oct 28-31.

While she's at a conference in the mornings, I'd like to volunteer at the Democratic headquarters, which I've located via the web.

For those of you who have voluntered there, what's best? Just show up and ask what can I do for the next four hours?

Not sure what Gill's Clinic is. Vicki's a clinical psychologist and I don't have at hand the location of the conference she's attending.
