| Is anyone else here sick of our U.S. Senators? |
|
I used to be happy them representing New York, but I've grown to dislike them, especially Clinton, I think I may dislike her even more than the republicans dislike her. I never used to dislike her this much before, but since she's been in the Senate, I've dislike many of her stances, because they have been very much like the stances of republicans. And now that she seems to be the only Blue state Democratic woman who seems to be not having a fit over Judge Roberts stance on Roe V. Wade, As a woman and a Democrat I'm feeling like I'm going to get stabbed in the back. I thought she was pro-choice, what happened to that, oh yeah I forgot it's time to kiss the butts of these "so-called" pro-lifers, and I'm thinking of not even voting for Senator in 2006...I want someone I know that is a True Democrat to be a Senator for NY . Does anyone else feel the same way??
P.S.: Sorry about the , I just very  sometimes, and can go on rambling.

preserve Roe? She has not changed her position one iota. I also would not be surprised if she voted against Roberts. Really! :)

|
and his stance, she acted that it was no big deal, while all the other Blue-state Democratic Female senators, seemed to have a little fit vowing that they would fight. And the fact she's been going to these conferences and such with some NY anti-choice groups way upstate, worries me a little that she is not on one side anymore, but wants to be in the middle.

Hillary hasn't actually taken that many actions to move her to the right, she's just used words. Once she starts voting like a right-winger is when I'll be angry. I also think Schumer is great. One of the best Dems on opposing extremist right judges.

"she did it for our own good - 911 and all those valid reasons" - are they actions or words in your book? FYI: Code Pink - women group protesting the war.

I like respect and support them both. Both however, on issues and in public speaking are inadequate and not too inspiring in dealing with real world evils represented by the Bushistas. Naivete like that is rare on DU, maybe more commonplace on the left side of Foggy Bottom, but a real drain on presidential gravitas IMHO. They are not alone among Dem Senatorial contenders for higher office in that regard. On specifics there have been specific instances when one can justly get very angry with either of them, most especially Hillary, but that is is part of the swamping bigger problems I just stated.
I am at least glad we are not represented by Smoking Joe or his like. Once spoiled by RFK- who was not "perfect" either- it is a tough act to follow. Too bad, this is a strong state to really test the appeal of upfront progressive and Truthful representation and daring leadership with zeal and intelligence. If they BOTH could keep one eye away from trying to woo Kansas or Iowa conservatives they might find more exciting opportunities for real leadership right here at home.
