Laura Bush in Saratoga on Monday - anyone want to protest??? |
|
I will - with a big sign that says, "Why aren't the twins in Iraq, Laura???"

but I have a quick question. How do you start a new thread? I just moved from Western NY to around Poughkeepsie and wanted to see if anyone could give me the rundown of local politics/Democratic party.
Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion. Have fun on monday.

3. Let me second that! Welcome to DU, 135th! |

And welcome to the NY forum!:toast:
To start a new thread, just click on "post" the little pencil icon at the top of your screen, and fill in the appropriate fields... Then hit "post" at the bottom, though I always hit "preview" first, to make sure that my links work, and I always use "spell check" LOL. :-)
As for learning about local politics, I'm a lot farther north than you are, but you can learn a lot by checking out coverage of your local races in the newspapers and on-line. Search for the website of your local Democratic Party. I found one on-line for my neck of the woods and they are becoming increasingly active, as the election becomes closer. Also, MoveOn is setting up temporary regional offices. Check to see if there's one close to you and check in with them...:-)
It's great to have you with us!:D Rhiannon:hi:
