Howdy, Buffalo and Niagara Falls! My husband and I are headed there this weekend |
|
and I could use some advice. We're taking a long weekend autumn vacation. My hope was to see some beautiful fall color but weather.com says that Buffalo/Niagara Falls is past the peak. Are there any pretty trees still around?
One reason I chose Niagara Falls is because I knew the falls would still be there even if the trees have dropped their leaves. I've been there before in 1994 but my husband hasn't. I understand that the area has become much more touristy than before. We're staying at the Sheraton on the Falls on the Canadian side with a full view of the falls. I understand that food is considered somewhat overpriced. Any suggestions on out-of-the-way eateries? I'd also like to watch the Texas-Oklahoma State football game on Saturday. It's on ABC but I don't know if it will be broadcast in that area. Any suggestions for a good place to watch the game?
We're renting a car in Buffalo and heading straight to the Maid of the Mist boat tour because Friday is the last day of operation this season and I've heard it's a great experience. Any suggestions on what else we should do while we're in the area? (We have no interest in gambling.)
Thanks! I'm very excited about getting a dose of fall weather, even if it's in the 50s and raining, as is predicted. :hi:
