Just called Kirsten Gillibrand's office to express support for her efforts on public option. |
|
During her time in office, have to admit, she's been a surprise in a good way. I didn't know boo about her before that, and given what was being said about her at the time, was prepared to have daily fits over expected "Blue Dog"-type antics -- but, she's turned out to be pretty amazing -- Called her office today with a message of support for her efforts to get the public option passed via reconciliation.
The nice young man there sounded almost as though he was bracing for some unpleasantness, and was therefore very happy to hear an actual message of support.
Next up, Schumer. Haven't heard that he's signed on, so will call to urge him to do so.

Schumer Signs Public-Option-Via-Reconciliation Letterhttp://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/02/schumer-signs-public-option-via-reconciliation-letter.phpAnd it's great that you called Gillibrand's office. They are probably mainly used to hearing from the irate and the crazy. She was my congresswoman here in NY-20 and I've always liked her, but she's doing even better than I expected as senator. :-)
