PLEASE tell all dems you know that straight party is not a vote for prez!

I know that this info has been posted before (once by me!) BUT I worked as a greeter Friday in Hillsborough (Orange Co.) and the poll workers there had smallish signs up inside with this info and they were explaining the ballot to everyone as they signed in. But my friend that is a poll worker in Wake Co. went for final training yesterday and was told explicitly that they are NOT to explain the straight party/presidential vote issue to voters. She asked about it because she has the same concern about under-voting that we all do, and the trainers told her that she COULD NOT EXPLAIN IT TO THE VOTERS. They said it would be an attempt to influence voters to vote straight party (wtf?) . . . .

My husband said that my friend and I should contact WUNC or somebody. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I thought this was a start. REMIND EVERYONE about this issue. Lots of folks yesterday in Hillsborough were waving off the voter info we had saying, "I'm voting straight party, I'm good." But when I pointed out that they wouldn't be voting for president that was news to them.
