This is just so much to take in. I'm sitting at my desk crying as I type this...
Speaking as a native of the 8th district of North Carolina and as someone who spent the first 26 years of his life living in that state, I am so amazingly proud of my home tonight. Not just of my country, but of my home state. For those of you that live in North Carolina that helped to make all of this happen tonight, you have my love, respect, and undying gratitude.

My only regret is that Jesse Helms did not live long enough to see our country elect a black man as President and to see his former seat go to a female Democrat. :evilgrin:

Never never never in a million years would I have thought NC would go blue, much less THIS blue. Obama won here too. I live in a blue state now. :woohoo:
