"Ahhh boone, my hippie haven."
Glad to hear that Boone still has few hippies left. I lived in East for two years, then up on hippie hill.

I lived in East - 2nd floor, new wing. (only 1 year - I wasn't actually in Watauga College) It's where I met my wife-to-be...
When were you there?

I live between Boone and Banner Elk, although before I moved down in the valley 2 years ago I lived right in town for 15 years! Cool to see there are a few of us around.

7. is the snow difficult to deal with? |
|
that's the one thing I don't look forward to - especially since my car isn't four-wheel drive.

9. The snow is over rated!! |
|
They clear the main roads around here very fast, so it's not a problem unless you live up on a mountaintop on a dirt road. Seriously, if you're gonna live inside the city limits, the snow is no problem. We had a relatively mild winter this past year.

11. Lovely memories of Boone |
|
Was there from '87-'89, and met my wife there while on the air at WASU.
The Boone and Asheville areas are the progressive "gems of the west" here in beautiful NC. Much as I love life in the Triangle, I can't wait to go back and visit!

Loving the area and the people. I'm still kind of surprised at how liberal a lot of the area is - another liberal oasis in ol' red state NC. Of course from what I gather, the ASU student body probably leans just slightly Republican.

13. Hows that poli sci thing going for ya? |
|
I just moved to the Charlotte area for school and have been thinking poli sci myself. Any input would be welcome.

but a lot of the poli sci theory can be boring at times. PM me if you have any questions.
