I got a 3-week lay off today and feel the need to let off steam. I would love it if a few of you could join me.

Well, it's probably been in the works for a couple of weeks; but they just notified people today.

It sucks.

Everything is kinda up in the air. I told the Lounge and I was gonna post an update this evening.

My office mate and I did a little wheeling and dealing with our manager this afternoon. We managed to offer to him a job share for the next six weeks. She takes these next three weeks, I take the next three weeks starting on Sept 12 and she gets the layoff. (It was originally supposed to be a six-week furlough, potentially coming back on Oct 3.)

I don't know if I'll be able to return on Sept 12 or not. Thing is, she's pregnant and will need maternity leave by Feb. (The manager doesn't know this. She hasn't annouced it yet.)

Damn. It seems like I just can't get anything I can depend on. :-(

Maybe you should try a little creative visualization. I think I told you how I used it on our house. It can't hurt. I'll tell you more when we get back if you're interested.
