Useless Sen. Dole (and Burr) against independent Katrina investigation |
|
I called Sen. Dole's DC office today and asked the very nice young lady if Sen. Dole was supporting an independent investigation into what happened with Hurricane Katrina. This is the SHOCKING conversation that I had:
Chipper Phone Answerer: Um, yes. Yes, she is supporting that.
Me: Is she supporting an independent investigation or the Republican-sponsored one?
CPA: Um, oh. The Republican one.
Me: You're telling me that she is not supporting an independent investigation?
CPA: Um, well. Um, no.
Me: Can you explain to me why she is not supporting an independent investigation?
CPA: No but I can transfer you to someone who can if you'd like.
Me: That would be great, thanks.
Well, the dude she transferred me to wasn't there so I had to leave a message on his voice mail. I made sure to say how outraged I was, etc., etc.
He has not called me back.
I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED. :sarcasm:
All this was followed up by a call to Sen. Burr's office where I had the same freaking conversation.
Then I called Sen. Reid's office to tell him that he had better not cave to the repubs on this one. I told the CPA there that "Sen. Reid can go to Democratic Underground, Democrats.com, Progressive Dems of America, Moveon.org and many other sites and read exactly how Democrats feel about a repub investigation."
I finished it by saying, "If he stands tall and doesn't cave, then we have his back."
Tomorrow, it will be time to call Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton and whomever else I can think of to call.

Please don't hold your breath while you wait for that call back - unless of course you mentioned needing the address for sending a large donation check.

7. Oh, in the voice mail I told him |
|
"I'll keep calling back until I get to talk to someone who can explain the Senator's position to me."
I have the Congressional number programmed on my cell phone. I have a heap of minutes and a lot of time to sit and hit redial.

The response you got is no surprise.

Dole and Burr are useless and never have an original thought. Whatever the Bush administration wants, they will do. I have emailed and written them repeatedly complaining about their party line votes. They work for the people they represent and not for George Bush, but apparently someone forgot to tell them that! ( I have numerous times.) I think I am now on their blacklists. It sounds as if the people who man their phones are about as stupid as they are!

You and I both are on their blacklist.
I always say, "My name is Arnheim and I am a constituent of Sen. Dole" when I call but they treat me as though I'm stupid/scum/tree-hugging liberal hippie crap.
It's maddening. I was so glad to have Edwards and now we are stuck with Tweedledee and Tweedledumb.

3. I know...if you are NC..and assume you are...You wonder why Edwards |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-20-05 08:41 PM by KoKo01
gave up his seat in the Senate so that that puny Bowles could have a "second failed run." :puke:
Even though Edwards voted as DLC and never answered my fax/phone/e-mails about Iraq Invasion...it seems my Dentist supported Burr because he would get rid of "malpractice suits."
One wonders about the state of health care and dental care in NC if a Pig like Burr can get so much support from the Medical Community.
I guess those "little mistakes' where folks die and lose teeth sort of get to our "Med Professionals" after awhile and they put there money they made off their patients where their vote and dollars for contributions go...these days.

4. Edwards got some BAD advice. |
|
I don't know if he thought that by resigning his seat made him seem more sincere about his presidential run but it was a bad decision. Dole is nothing more than Jesse Helms in a skirt and Burr is pretty much a blow hard. NC has very weak representation in the Senate--neither has been effective for the state whether you're left or right.

6. Right. Edwards should have kept his seat while running |
|
Burr and Dole both are useless. They follow whatever Rove tells them to do.
Useless and disgusting - both of them.

5. Burr was actually doing well in the polls |
|
Repubs had a little help from their friends - Diebold. There was more crap going on here than many other states. We just now had an election settled in the past few months!
We have optical scan machines now but the danger is still lurking.

9. They had BIG HELP from Medical Community. Burr promised them he |
|
would stop malpractice suits. The Medical Community voted for him because of that. Think about it...how many of you have Doctors and Dentists who couldn't have gotten whipped into frenzy thinking their patients have latent evil desires to sue them for years in courts?
Our Med Folks can be very one minded. Many of them lost mega bucks in the "Dot Com" Implosion. It was their only retirement savings...the Stock Market. When the Dot Com's Crashed they lost their pensions.
I've heard the complaints...(familiar with Med/Health/Biosciences here in NC..so pick up the gossip.
I'm not one of them...but hear their tales of woe...

11. It's amazing to me that well educated people will believe |
|
the bullshit told to them. Burr "I will stop medical malpractice suits"...is just BS. HE alone can't do squat!!! And these morons bought it hook, line and sinker! If I see one more Burr sticker, I'm going to :puke:
I'll try calling Dole/Burr's offices today and complain too! NOT that it will get me anywhere!

If anything, it will annoy the hell out of them.
I want to start recording the calls, though. The people who answer the phones are really hysterically funny as they try to tap dance their way around the issues.

|
I feel so frustrated with her responses to my emails that I had decided not to write her again. Maybe if enough of us hammer away she'll get the message?
