How are the numbers falling for Heath Shuler? |
|
I haven't seen any poll numbers in weeks for the Shuler vs Taylor 11th Congressional District Race in NC. Has anyone out there seen anything? I have seen some good ads for Shuler followed by attack ads by Taylor. Now Shuler is attacking back. Good for him, he has to stand up for himself. That was a major problem in the last race that Taylor was in. His opponent didn't stand up for herself enough. Come on Dems, this is one seat we HAVE to win. It could mean the majority for the Democrats in the House. Talk to me!

I read a blog post last week or so on BlueNC about a poll that showed Shuler polling slightly ahead of Taylor: http://www.bluenc.com/

3. I don't know about recent poll numbers, but... |

...$100 just fell into his campaign coffers, courtesy of me.
Charlie just pulled the millionaire lever and is running ads by the dozen around here. If you live in the 11th and have any spare cash...even just a few bucks...send it to Heath ASAP. We need to counter Charlie's lies with some hard truth. Hard on Charlie, that is.

4. Now there's a good idea Spiffarino- |

Just when I thought the ads couldn't get any worse, they are getting worse. The latest one with the older woman saying that "if Heath were her son she would wash out his mouth" because he is scaring seniors with what he is saying about Social Security, etc. etc. I have watched all the ads (all the ads!) and am a senior and I find nothing scary about Heath's ads. Charlie's are just vicious and racked with untruths. Let's hear what you have done over the past 16 years Charlie. Actually, I think that there are too many ads from both sides. I'm ready to turn them all off. I just want to hear the TRUTH.

6. I doubt we've seen Charlie Taylor reach the bottom yet... |
|
He's threatened because Shuler has the numbers. His own internal polls are probably scaring him to death. And now, with the Foley scandal, the NIE, and Bush's downward approval spiral, Charlie will sink to depths heretofore unseen since the Willie Horton ads.
I concur with MountainMomma that there are way too many ads, but Shuler has to keep up the pressure. If Taylor's ads go unanswered Shuler agrees by default. That's how it works now that the average American's attention span is similar to a goldfish's.

as one can hardly watch the Asheville station without seeing at least four ads during each program. I especially like the report that I just heard on the news that the latest polls put Heath 11 points ahead of Charlie. Look out as Charlie will go lower than we can imagine with his ads. Charlie's ads will defeat him in my opinion because folks are upset with the nasty tone and lies and cover ups that are coming out of Washington. Here in Franklin we have a group who call them selves "Republicans for Change" who are taking out full page ads in the local paper in support of our Democratic candidates!!!! We have to keep working to get our Democrat into that 11th Congressional District seat in Congress. One seat at a time. That is our responsibility- only one seat. Others are doing it and we can too. Just watch, they will be featuring this race on the national news. I have heard that CNN and MS NBC have been around filming around Shuler and Taylor campaign headquarters.

watch out for some sort of nasty "October surprise" coming from the Taylor camp, but I agree with you the nastiness will backfire. I believe it has already.

between Shuler and Taylor on the Asheville station WLOS. How do you all think that Heath will do up against Charlie who speaks so many untruths? I also have been noticing no signs for Taylor over this way (Franklin). Lots of Shuler kin live here so maybe Charlie has conceeded this area to Heath. Do you think?????? Shulers new ads on TV the last couple of days are good and are not attacking like Taylor's are. Folks are sick of all the nastiness.

lots of Charlie's ads stretch the truth into oblivion. Just as he's responsible for the Medicaid programs (I believe each state runs their own), the VA clinic in Franklin (where is it?), education (especially of Russian students) yada, yada, yada. Stretch, stretch, stretch, One who doesn't have a good record of accomplishment has to make up a record.
