"Blame Canada"?

I was driving around Raleigh today and noticed some dude in a beat up pick-up truck with a "Blame Canada" bumpersticker. WTF are we blaming Canada for - I've lost track! He also had a sticker that read something like "let bands play Dixie." Was "oh, I wish I wahhs in da land 'o cotton" banned down here? Fortunately, there are plenty of pro-Dem/anti-W stickers around, but I've seen some real winners coming from the wing-nuts.

1. Blame France?

Blame Clinton? I dunno, I can't keep up with who they are blaming next. I am not aware of any legislation banning "Dixie", either. Things that make you say "huh?".

2. Sometimes I've actually pulled up to people...

and asked, but this guy looked not-too-stable. I figure if I Google "Ann Coulter + Blame Canada", I'll get my answer.

Another one just popped into my head. At the beach this weekend some guy had on a "Shoot a Yank for Jesus" t-shirt. My gf and I were trying to sneak a pic, but no luck. Figure it could have become a new classic, right up there with the wing-nut poster boy, Mr. "Morans".

Or maybe not. I would be afraid to ask someone who advocates shooting on religious grounds about their shirt. Could he possibly have been joking?

4. Well, based on the area of the Carolina shore we were visiting,

along with the massive pickup truck and obligatory Bush/Cheney and American flag stickers, my guess is he was serious. Yikes!

5. I blame Canada

I blame Canada for the funny way my wife talks. Everytime I just about get her to talk normal, she goes home and visits her family. I spend the next few months hearing "eh" after every sentence. Damn those Canadians and their single payer health care.
