Sorry I craped out on the meet up this month. |

:P :hi:
I've had a really horrible cold which I think I've had twice now, last month and then again this past couple of weeks. I'm only now alert.
I'm open to whatever.
edit: I'd love to see you soon too, but what about a Thanksgiving get together also? Unless there are too many family activities going on...

1. HA! I still don't think you'll be breaking my record anytime soon! |
|
I've missed more meetups than anybody, and seldom for reasons as good as a horrible cold. :evilfrown:

However, I'm in bed right now on painkillers- had acupuncture yesterday- caused a muscle spasm that wouldn't unlock until i was put back on muscle relaxers. Damn that car accident... and it tore up my DU sticker too!

No, I haven't needed painkillers. But apparently I can't hold my TheraFlu. It knocks me right out.
Sorry, you're in so much pain, NCR  Hope you feel better soon.

5. I've learned not to post while on theraflu. |
|
I make no sense. And if I try to mod while on theraflu...oh, gosh... i know better than that!
Thanks! I'm sure I'll feel better soon. I think I have more range of motion back- not sure if i should go back to the acupuncturist,or let sleeping dogs lie.

I didn't catch on that you had been in a serious accident; I'm glad you're OK!
Sorry to hear about the DU sticker! A tragic loss!

13. That "popularity" is all HERS, you know. |
|
She's a genuinely NICE human being, so anyone even close to SANE just can't help but like her, and want to have her around.
Add her Master's Degree in "Social Work" to that formula, and she's busy 8 evenings a week.
Me? I'm just a high-functioning autistic toothless hillbilly along for the ride.

I can still do Friday. (although I know that's not a popular day) Saturday, I could do late. There's something at the neighbors until about 8. I'm still open for Halloween. Just handing out candy. We have the decorations up and there will be snacks, beer, and lots of candy.

15. The "election returns" idea really sounds like a good one! |
|
This weekend is already out: We were booked a year in advance for this Saturday; that's our regular "pumpkin carving" party with some old friends.
And Sundays are our "us" day; after she takes her grandma to church in the morning, we try to keep the rest of the day free for the things that 2 people in love need to do. (sit on the sofa and catch up on a week's worth of 'The Daily Show')

We used to do that when I lived in Charlotte, and it was always a well attended affaird. They set up everything, TV & radio, the campaigns, and real-time results projected on giant screens, all in the convention center. Huge party atmosphere.

...have an election return night and some other thing too, but maybe that's overkill.
Hi supernova!
EDIT: I know that Satisfactions in Brightleaf has a small back room with a big screen in it - not sure what type of hookup (cable, whatever) they have though. They let some homebrew beer clubs use it (free) and they don't even buy beer (they bring their homebrew). I wonder if they'd allow a small group from DU to use it (and we WILL buy beer - or some of us will) on Tues (election) night? Just a thought. Should I call and ask?

Yes, I was talking about doing both.
I've been laid up for a month, and I want to get caught up on my nights out quota.

...no answer. I'll try again later. If they'll do this, I'll ask about the screen in there, tell 'em what we're wanting to do.
It ain't a fancy room, just some tables and chairs and Sat's is notoriously noisy but we can shut the door - stick a DU bumpersticker on the outside (not permenantly, just w/ tape!) to let folks know where we are.
If anyone else has time to call and pester them, pls do! We could have some beers, wine, food for those who want a little (their menu isn't great) and if the TV in there works, watch the returns come in.
I think Tyler's at ATC has such a room as well but not sure if they'd 'donate' it. Not sure Sat's will either. But we can ask.

23. I reserved the room at Sats for Tues Nov 7th!! |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-27-06 06:39 PM by Triana
Will have to confirm and verify with them *again* beforehand because I know they mess up their reservations sometimes (they have with the homebrew club).
I told them about 10 ppl for watching results come in. There is a tv in there and they said it has cable. They won't care if it's a few more or less people. If we do this, I'd encourage everyone to buy some beer, wine, or food and to be sure we clean up the room and leave a tip for the staff. They often allow the use of this room to small local groups like this for free so would like to support them and give them some business when they do it.
Told them 8:00 p.m. - 10 or 11:00 or so.
If yall can't make it let me know so I can cancel. I don't want to tie up the reservation if we're not gonna use it!
EDIT: PM me for add'l info if needed - and to let me know if you're gonna make it or not!!
