'Go Ahead, Put Marks on Me': Second Dancer: Alleged Duke Lacrosse Rape Victim Said to Bruise Her |
|
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/LegalCenter/story?id=2614634&page=1I wonder who if anybody is coordinating the trickle of anti-Nifong news that seems to be coming out every couple of weeks? Last week was the news that Nifong has never interviewed the accuser about the facts of the case. Now this interview on Good Morning America this morning with the other dancer that seems to suggest there was some kind of setup.

1. These boys have very good lawyers |
|
That said, if the case is flimsy it should be thrown out, my only point here is that because these are rich kids they have the lawyers to make sure that the case does, in fact, fall apart.

DURHAM, N.C. -- Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong handed over more evidence to defense attorneys Friday. He also said in court that he has not talked to the alleged victim in detail about the Duke lacrosse rape case.
Attorneys for the accused players want to know about conversations Nifong may have had with the woman who alleges she was raped at a March 13 party by three members of the Duke lacrosse team. Nifong told the judge that there was nothing to tell.
"I understand the answer may not be the answer that they want, but it is the true answer, and it is the only one I can give them," Nifong said after the hearing.
"Mr. Nifong did admit that he, in fact, has basically never talked to this woman and has absolutely no idea what her story is, and yet he has chosen to continue to go forward with this case," said defense attorney Joe Cheshire.

4. So, are you saying the second dancer is in cahoots |
|
with the accused?
Or perhaps Nifong actually screwed up on this one? Or maybe the second dancer has changed her story one too many times? Or perhaps a rape actually occurred?
Methinks we will never know the truth. However, this case has been damaged. I really don't know how an impartial jury can convict three people beyond reasonable doubt, when the stuff that has come out (which, of course, is not all of the evidence) does not support the charges brought against the accused.

7. that's true, we may never know |
|
Even if the case is dismissed (most likely because the accuser drops out, in my opinion) all of their lives are tainted. The accuser was in a fragile emotional state when she fell in this prosecutor's lap and he is riding her all the way from the primary to re-election. For the suspects, the least of their problem is that their college lacrosse career has been squelched.
Note to self: do not hire strippers for a residential party!

5. this case has REASONABLE DOUBT indelibly stamped on every page... |
|
I'd be very surprised if there were any convictions forthcoming on the main charges.
