Great turnout for early voting |
|
Here in Raleigh, I voted this afternoon at the Sertoma Arts Center by Shelley Lake. The line reminded me of Disneyland with all the twisting back and forth. The Democratic folks were out in force handing out flyers. I have been disappointed so many times lately with election results, so I am stifling my optimism until Tuesday evening. Seeing the great turnout gave me hope of Dems taking back America.

This article worries me: "GOP voters to polls early - High turnout in Mecklenburg so far could be precursor to Republican victories." http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/

Made me worry. Also worried that Kissell is not turning them out in east Charlotte. My observation, the reps have been better organized locally, at least at the early voting sites I have been to, once to vote myself, admittedly in very republican south Charlotte, and once bringing some elderly friends to vote at a more mixed location in SE Charlotte.
On the plus side, the difference isn't huge, and the general sentiment is that indies are breaking for the dems this year, although I don't know if that applies to local races too, but we can hope.
I am off to canvass for Kissell this afternoon. That will help with my anxiety. Brrrr, looks cold out.
