It's been the warmest winter I can recall, and I've lived in WNC for about 24 years now.

7. It was a beautiful day! |

And the snow was gone, just like here in Boone. Actually it was warm yesterday! We went to Biltmore and then shopping all over town. My contacts were stuck to my eyes when I got home at 11 pm... a long and great day! Later on! :-)

5. But but but.......don't you want more? |

I love the muffled silence that a snowfall brings. I think the ideal amount is about four or five inches. Then it doesn't hang around forever and is neither cruel to man nor beast; but it still gives a good covering.
Actually I am jealous that you got any at all. LOL! The triangle has not seen a single flake! :(

4 or 5 inches is great--you don't want to see the grass poking up through it! You want a nice blanket. No snow in the Triangle last year, and if things keep up, it looks like we'll miss out this year too. I've got daffodils 6 inches high in my yard, and the hyacinths have popped. It's the middle of friggin' January!! Crazy.

Asheville is my town. I lived there for a number of years while I was finishing school at WCU and for a short while after. I miss Asheville so much and I try to get up there to visit friends as often as I can.
What a great place to live!
